In 2022 i have undergone TRTP through Anne and it has absolutely changed my life and turned my life around. I had so much truma from a divorce and family abuse that has been bottle up for years and felt unworthy and big failure in my life. Thanks to Anne i have succeeded more in life in 2 years then i have all my life. I have overcome my truma’s and have tackled life head on with a clear and peaceful mindset. Im no longer angry or triggered. After 2 years this is my genuine review i feel so much better iv accomplished so much in life in such a short time and happily re-married and enjoying the cream and the cherry on the cake. Words cannot express to those who have truma to undertake the TRTP program through Anne because everyone is valuable, life is valuable and the grass is always greener. Just believe in the process like i have and you will pick the fruit from the tree you have been watering. Thank you Anne so much..

After a referral from a friend who spoke highly of Anne, I made contact for TRTP. I was initially worried that my anxieties would get the better of me and not be able to complete the process. Anne was able to reassure me, talk me through TRTP and I completed the sessions in May 2023. I highly recommend completing TRTP with Anne and the results are instant. The ‘felt experience’ is amazing. I came out of this process a much calmer person who was no longer in flight or fight mode 24/7. I felt safe with Anne throughout this process. A few weeks after TRTP my mother passed away and I have been working with Anne as a Counsellor to manage my grief. Anne has helped me through the stages that come with grief. I am very grateful to Anne for having a safe space to open up for what has been a very challenging time. I highly recommend Anne and TRTP.

I highly recommend Anne. I have been having therapy sessions with Anne continiously for the past 2 years. After 20+ years of trying many others I have never found any to care and help and actually treat certain traumas I have like Anne has and continues to do so. Anne truly is my angel sent from above, without her I do not know where I would be today. Your Awesome 🙏

I went to Anne with multiple Traumas . I was not Hopfull that it can help however my partner booked me in to see Anne .. Anne was very professional and wise. She tried alot to stop me from self sabotaging .. I am still dealing with anxiety day in day out however I feel more aware of my problems and also less aggressive and sensitive to some triggers.. not all my problems are solved as it was just four sessions with Anne! we could just work with couple of the issues... however it did help and I see a change .. I recommend TRTP specially for those battling with PTSD !

I've been seeing Anne Serrey for anger management and for TRTP as part of my court ordered diversion since April. I can comfortably say that slapping the guy that brought me to these counselling sessions was the best thing I've ever done. Absolutely life changing. I feel much lighter, I feel free, and unstuck for the first time since exiting my mother's uterus thirty odd years ago. Thanks so much Anne for all your help and your continued support. Highly recommend Anne's services.

Anne is amazing, TRTP has changed my entire outlook on life, how I interact with people, and what I’m doing. In the few months since TRTP my life has honestly changed so much for the better, it’s beyond what I could have ever imagined. My friends and family are also noticing it! And amazingly, every day gets better. Thank you so much Anne!

What Is Anger Management Counselling?

Anger Management Byron Shire

Anger management counselling is a form of therapy aimed at helping people to understand and regulate their anger. It facilitates your grown and awareness so you can identify your triggers, feel your emotions, and communicate more effectively.

Counselling teaches you to connect to what is going on below the surface of your thinking mind. When we re-connect to our senses, listen to the information our bodies provide and act early on these signs we accept our anger feelings without judgement and deal with them safely.

Dealing with anger can be difficult, as we are unlearning old, maladaptive, and ingrained ways of coping, and building new healthy habits and behaviours. The work can be challenging but the rewards are immense.

Counselling can help you understand your anger and find healthy ways to deal with it.

Benefits Of Anger Counselling

There are many benefits to anger counselling. It can help you:

  • Understand your anger: Sometimes, people get angry without knowing why. Counselling can help you identify the things that trigger your anger so that you can deal with them in a more constructive way.
  • Control your temper: If you have difficulty controlling your temper, anger management counselling can help you learn how to keep your cool in difficult situations.
  • Build better relationships: Anger can damage relationships with the people around you. Anger management counselling can help you communicate better and resolve conflicts in a more constructive way.
  • Reduce stress: Stress can be a major trigger for anger. Anger management counselling can help you learn how to manage stress in a healthy way so that it doesn’t lead to anger.
  • Improve your work performance: Anger can affect your work performance and may even lead to job loss. Anger management counselling can help you identify the things that trigger your anger at work and learn how to deal with them in a more constructive way.
  • Regulate your emotions: Uncontrolled emotional responses create distress and contributes to escalation during conflict. Anger management counselling will enable you to identify negative emotions before they erupt, and develop behaviours to express your feelings calmly.

Anger Management Counselling FAQ’s

Anger management counselling is a supportive and confidential process where you work with a counsellor to understand your anger – what triggers it, how it affects your life, and how to express it in healthier ways. At Northern Rivers Counselling, our goal is to help you manage anger before it damages your relationships, work, or wellbeing.

If you often feel irritable, have trouble calming down, find yourself shouting, or experience conflict in relationships because of anger, counselling may help. You might also notice physical signs like tension, clenched fists, or a racing heart during arguments. These can be signals that extra support is needed.

The aim isn’t to get rid of anger completely – anger is a natural emotion. Instead, counselling helps you recognise the early signs, respond in ways that don’t harm you or others, and express your feelings constructively.

You might learn relaxation techniques, communication skills, problem-solving methods, and ways to reframe unhelpful thoughts. We’ll also work on identifying your personal triggers and building strategies to handle them calmly.

No – it’s for anyone who feels their anger is affecting their life in a negative way, whether or not it involves physical aggression. Many people seek support for verbal outbursts, resentment, frustration, or difficulty letting go of grudges.

Everyone is different. Some people notice improvements after a few sessions, while others benefit from longer-term support. We’ll create a plan based on your goals and check in regularly on your progress.

Yes – Northern Rivers Counselling offers both face-to-face and secure online appointments, so you can choose the option that best suits your lifestyle and comfort.
